PADI SCUBA DIVER COURSE

The PADI Scuba Diver Course is a recognised certification recently introduced by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). It is recommended for those people who would like to scuba dive, but perhaps cannot put the time in that is required to achieve the full Open Water Diver Certification. The Certification once achieved allows the diver to dive accompanied by a Divemaster or above to a depth not exceeding 12 Metres, therefore this course is ideally suited to persons wishing to dive in resorts under the safety and control of experienced supervisors. This course is not suitable for those that wish to dive as a buddy pair unescorted. The course consists of a). Three modules of theory, lasting approximately two hours per session, this also includes watching the course video. Quizzes are given at the end of each module. b). Three swimming pool sessions of approximately two hours per session, where basic skills are taught. c). Two open water training dives, which can be completed in one or two open water sessions. d). Candidates are also required at some time during the course to complete a 10 minute "tread water" and also a 200 Metre swim. Students receive a manual and log book before the start of the course and also a certification card upon completion of the course. At any time, if a certified PADI Scuba Diver wishes to advance to the Open Water Diver Certification, the diver can complete the skills required at any PADI center throughout the world. The reason that this can be done is that the PADI Scuba Diver qualification is not a "stand alone" qualification, it is in fact a section of the PADI Open Water Diver course. Other courses ?
